Does anyone know where I can find this water bottle? I think it looks amazing and I'd love to get one like it.
I found the picture off of Vanilla Bicycles page. I figure I'll ask them where they got it if no one knows. http://vanillabicycles.com/frames/randonee/1/lrg/7.jpg

I haven't had too much trouble finding metal water bottles like the Amazon ones, but the type with the wide neck top AND wooden top seem to elude me so far.

on what kind of long distance ride is it practical to use a bottle where you have to take your hands off the bars to drink? I know some experienced randos that only eat while they are stopped, but I don't know anyone that doesn't drink while they are underway. Wouldn't be prudent

The key thing about this bottle is that it is for me, and I've considered the benefits and drawbacks of such a design. I'm not trying to ruffle anyones feathers, just looking for answers as to where I can find it. The bike community is a great resource, so why not try to tap the information people might have? We don't all visit the same websites or do the same searches. One of you fine riders just may of seen this on their web browsing.
**On a separate note, trying not to derail the purpose of this thread, I know many people who have used bottles like this before. They go to a store a buy a Gatoraide with a screw-top lid. Not everyone likes to put Gatoraide or other drink mixes in their bottle, or maybe they've somehow lost their water bottle. Regardless, they have no trouble opening/closing the bottle and drinking out of it while on the ride.**

you probably would have better luck with this in C&V
Not exactly the same, but Velo-Orange (http://store.velo-orange.com/index.php/klean-kanteen-reflect-water-bottle.html) sells one similar.
