General Cycling Discussion - BICYCLING magazine $2.99 for one year!!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

This was posted on another forum. It's an awesome deal so I thought I'd share.

Just came across this deal, better jump on it before they cancel it...

-Go to www.deekins.com

-Add Bicycling Magazine to your cart (2nd on the list under Top 10 on the right side)

-Create an account with them (you can read their privacy statement)

-Enter coupon code BSXHD in the coupon box

-Your subscription should show up as $2.99

They do not renew automatically, nothing to cancel. If you already get Bicycling, enter your name and address exactly as it appears on your current magazine address label and you will get a renewal for one year instead of some double copies. Did I mention the shipping is free?

At this time they only accept credit cards through Paypal, but you don't have to have a PayPal account to pay through them. You will receive an email receipt from PayPal as soon as you pay.

I just subscribed using my Niece's School fundraising program...I haven't recieved my first issue yet...but I signed up through Deekins as a renewal, hoping that I'll get an additional year for only $2.99....but if I get double copies....Oh well, it's only $2.99.. :)

Thanks for the tip!

It works for ESPN, but not for Newsweek... it probably works for a whole bunch of other magazines.

Thanks for the code... I used it for Muscle & Fitness....

Thanks, it worked for me, too. Not a big fan of Bicycling (especially after the current issue), but at $2.99, you cannot go wrong. And oh, I run a national consumer magazine, and the paper/ink/postage cost for those 12 issues is 4X what I just paid for a sub. So, Mr. Advertiser, who do you think pays for the bills with Bicycling? Right!

Rock on! I placed my order and it worked perfectly.

<Little do I know that Deekins is actually a front for a contra faction in Afghanastan. They've just used my credit card on file with Paypal to charge $10K with of bullet proof vests>

I think most subscriptions take 4-6 weeks, even if you fill out a flier and send it in... For me I usually forget that I even ordered a magazine and then magically it appears...

MIght be. It has been over 4 weeks and i haven't got a mag yet. It is still early though. I figured for $2.99 i won't be out too much.

I bought a subscription through the Deekins site when I first saw it on this forum. After I saw that some people had concerns I checked Bicycling's website under "Subscriptions" and found my account all paid up for one year. Looks like it's all good...

I'd sign up because my subscription is coming to an end but apparently the new account login will work for anyone, as long as you live in the USA....

I've sent Deekins a message, maybe I'll get in yet.

signed,

a Canadian, looking in from the cold.... no really, it has been cold (for Niagara).

I started recieving my issues (and I used the renew subscription with the same code) and I checked my account status on bicycling.com...

It reads:

The first issue of your current order is Dec 1, 2004
Your subscription will expire with the Nov 1, 2008.

Hah.....I have the magazine coming for the next 4 years....I hope they don't go out of business before then.... :)

Cool, just checked the status online and:

"Account Status: Active Paid

Issue Information:

The first issue of your current order is Jan 1, 2005
Your subscription will expire with the Dec 1, 2005.
Bicycling is published 11 times per year.

Order Information:

Your current order for 11 issues was received on 01/03/2005."

I'm guessing I'll be getting Jan and Feb together soon. :)

Signed up 1/13/05, no issue yet and no subscription info on bicycling.com either. Holding breath (but hey, it was only $2.99).
