What's the spectator situation like? I've never been to the DLV but would like to come watch some of the races.

It's free to watch any event excep our 3 Pro Races where admission is (I think) $5 for an individual and $10 for a family. This is to offset the cost of the cash payout for the racers.

For those watching this thread, Dick Lane Velodrome in Atlanta has announced 2 training classes for March. These 2-day classes are preferred over the other format which is 4 Thursdays in a row.

We'll be running two weekend beginners classes this spring before our regular season activities get under way. As always our most excellent coach Brian will be heading those classes up, and we are hoping to have a special guest or two for our Women's only class as well. More details over at the Beginner page: http://www.dicklanevelodrome.com/pages/beginnerprogram.html

What is a wheelrace?

It's handicap race where slower people are given a head start. The lower you place in the qualifying events, the bigger head start you get. This creates some dramatic finishes.
