Been thinking about it for some time and a decision has to be made--And I made it today. Walked into the shop and the owner had all the answers to a few questions I had made a few weeks ago. At that time I still had a couple of options but they had settled down to two choices. So I ordered it- Sight unseen and just ordered it on the specification- and a good price. Size is not a problem although it could be a bit tight if it comes in Italian sizing. Then they told me the only only colour choice and it is Silver and White.
I don't like white and silver is not my favourite colour. Just Hope I won't regret it.

What happened to the Giant you were going to get?
Tried ordering a Giant right now?--They just are not available in the UK. Looked for a TCX in "S" size-No defy's available- TCR are just as bad. The only ones I could get were top end that I cannot afford- or models I was not interested in. The Whyte Cross bike is not available in a 51- they don't make that size yet and I have not been able to find a dealer with a cross bike in stock-let alone a 53 so I could try for size.
So Pinarello-- I was looking for an FP1 but The concessionaire has none in stock--The dealers that have them listed as a 2011 bike- Don't have a 50 frame in any colour and once again they are not available unless I want the largest frames.
This bike is to be my Runaround bike--Won't call it a beater but it will be the everyday bike--Unless it rides really well- in which case it may get elevated.
Going against the current buying trend--This is an Aluminium frame and that is what I was looking for. Triple butted lightweight and race Geometry--Similar to my Boreas and will not be much heavier. Wheels are the let down and I may have to buy a decent set for it.
Other bikes that were in the running were some good deals I was offered in a Scott CR1 Pro and a few Felts. Once again- not available in my size so It was look at what was available. The UNO was not my first choice- till I tried a test ride of an FP1 a mate has. They are no longer available so I trust the UNO is just as good as it is the replacement for the FP1.
AND THE COLOUR-- Shows how much it doesn't interest me as it was not till I got home that I found out what a Silver/White bike looks like. The white is still not my choice but the silver;) does not look too bad.

Looks like you ride the same size frame as I do. If it gets too cold to ride there just send it to me and I will make sure you get a good 6.5k on it this year.

You could always strip it down to just the frame before you ride it and take the frame down to the local auto repair shoppe and have them paint it a more pleasing colour like British Racing Green or such.

When I decided to get a new bike last month, I went to a large Giant dealer and looked at the new models. The big square downtubes and wide flat top tubes just didn't put any love in my heart. I was at a different bike shop getting a Retul adjustment when I saw a Bianchi Infinito, in red, and decided that was the bike I was going to buy. I went to a different bike shop to get a wireless computer and saw a Colnago Ace, in white, and fell in love again. Went back to the first shop and found out they were a Colnago dealer, as well. After giving this much thought, I decided to go with the Colnago, since I got a better deal and the frame was almost identical to my Defy (dimension wise).
I'm glad that I decided to go with the Colnago as there are lots of Giants, C'Dales, Specialized and Treks (which are a dime a dozen). There are a few Bianchis around the bay area but you don't see too many Colnagos.

You see a problem, I see opportunity. Simply ship the bare frame to me and I'll give it a nice satin black paint job with some custom "retro grouch" vinyl downtube stickers and, at the same time, reduce the weight of the bike by at least a couple of pounds.
The weight reduction comes from eliminating the need to carry a bike lock once I get through with it.

Stapfam,
Just plain old outstanding choice. Actually one of the last makes I thought you would go for after reading your threads. What grouppo and wheels are on the Pinnie? Enjoy the ride when it comes in. Remember, ride report with lots of pictures, pie after the ride and continuing reports on the first several rides or Billydonn will put you up for a thorough SHUNNING and take it from me, you do not want to be shunned here.

Your audience demands a picture of the actual bike upon delivery: large chain ring, pedals (you do have pedals?) in proper alignment, garage door, etc. (you do have garages and automobiles over there?). BTW, nice ride.
You must have a VERY understanding wife. Or was there "vigorish" involved?
Find a local automobile painter and have some pinstripes added around the dark bits. Red would look stunning.

Bike was ordered yesterday so may be in at the LBS by the weekend. My passing comment was that I will be in early Saturday to build it up. Their comment was-2 Danish and whatever you might want- otherwise the bike gets lost. So it looks good for weekend supply. Won't say ride as The roads are iced up round here and I don't want to join Club Tombay this early in the year. Tiagra Groupset with 105 Brifters- Shimano R500 wheels- and hoping it will be a compact crank. To be honest-This was my first choice of bike last autumn when I rode the FP1 but thought it would be a bit "Poserish" to have a Pinarello But that ride proved the frame and the quality that Tiagra has progressed to.The other bikes in my "Wish List" are just not available. So not saying this is second best as Deep down I can't see my need for a Cross bike when all I have planned when I retire (Only 7 weeks now- but who's counting?---I AM ) is a few road rides a week till I get up to full fitness and then it will the organised Metrics and Centuries. First of those is a new ride of London to Brighton at night. Should be fun not being able to see the rider that is going to hit you. Offroad-Even gentle Trail riding and I prefer to have someone with me when the Tree jumps out in front of me.
I basically ordered sight unseen so hence the "YUK" comment on the colour. Back home and on the website and I quite like the colour in the front and hopefully I won't ever see the back.
So back up to 6 Main bikes now. Will have to get pics of them all again shortly and I do have a garage door- but it is BLUE.
And the "Pinnie" website is not much help but is listed below.

Congratulations! Once I dialed in my Pinarello, I'm totally in love with it. No woman can compete. Just might be the last bike I'll ever have to purchase.
I agree on the color of the Uno. Looks blah.
Call your shop before they build it all up. Make sure it has the compact crank you want. If not, they can easily swap it out at this stage. They probably won't even charge you to do it. They will probably give you the cluster you want too.

Posted on the N+1 of 2012 thread but Tiagra Groupset- R 500 wheels- 105 Brifters and 17.5 lbs with no pedals. The finish is a Matt finish so it looks as though I have a trend with Boreas being a matt anodised finish. Haven't even sat on it yet as still some assembly to do but saddle is slightly padded- White bar tape is not yet fitted and probably will not be- and The fittings kit included a touch up of white paint-Hopefully not to be used. Compact crank and 12/25 cassette.

Looks sweet Stapfam, hope the weather clears and warms enough for you to get a commissioning ride in soon. In the meantime get some white paint and coat that garage door properly for a BF compliant new bicycle picture:innocent: You should enjoy doing the build up as this is the bicycle, with the components, you wanted. All yours, so build her up nicely!!:thumb:. Not poserish at all BTW, suits you sir:twitchy:

Very nice bike! I think it looks awesome. I know you will enjoy it once the weather there clears up. Just a note on the weather. The last few years we've had a good amount of snow(for here...southern USA). This year it's been mild, except for two early snows. The past 3 weeks I've ridden the mountain bike at will with daytime temps in the 50s to 70s(F). Saturday it's suppose to get in the teens here, so we may see some winter yet.

Got it finally assembled. Just in case you are wondering how I managed to do that on a weekday--I took the sickie I threatened about yesterday. Couple of points came about in the build and they came as I expected. The steeper seat tube angle means that I no longer have the saddle right forward on the rails. My thighs are short and it has always caused a problem- unless I went to a smaller frame that does not fit my upper body. It is an ally frame with CF seat stays and fork so hopefully it will be a resilient ride. Should be with the R500 wheels that are not noted for being the stiffest around.
236759
Still the blue garage door but this is the way it will be run as soon as the roads clear of Ice. Stem will be cut once I have settled on the bar height but I think this is how it is going to stay. This is my first NON compact frame so it will be interesting to see if My short legs have a problem. I was going to change the bar tape to black but white was supplied and it is thick. I can always change it if I don't like it but this is the thickest tape I have come across.Might be a reason for that.
236758
And once built up-I had to compare it to the two other road bikes. Not any difference on saddle or bar height so it will interesting to see how it feels on the road.
The white bar tape looks good. My wife also has it on her bike, didn't take long to start to look a it dingy. That's the problem with white tape, it looks good new, but doesn't stay clean long. And every time I work on her bike I have to be extra carefull when touching the bars.
Good luck, and enjoy the ride.

That's actually quite attractive. The duotone works. Are you going to have the stem cut down after you dial the fit in?

Stem will be cut and the "Duotone" will stay. Been out checking the bike over this evening and I know this is not a cheap bike but I am surprised at the little bit of extra "Quality" on this bike. The 105 Brifters are the latest type--not an old version that is a fitted upgrade. No star washer in the Steerer tube--A Proper Fixing that normally comes on the more expensive bikes. ALL Bolts have been greased and never seen that on a bike before. Normally it is one of the jobs I do on assembly and those bolts are stainless- not chrome plated that eventually rust. I did start to oil the Stainless Cables but they have already been done.
Only downside is the weather so no Christening ride for a few days. At least that will give me plenty of time to sit on it and adjust and look at it before I do have to start swearing that the saddle is wrong- I have to get a different bar stem or some other part need adjusting. Should have it all sorted before a ride report gets posted.

My CAAD 10 has the proper fixing assembly in lieu of a star washer for the fork. It is so much easier to adjust and use than the star to me. Noticed it when I went over everything for grease and anti-sieze. Bike quality seems to be getting so much better these days.
