This came with my Giant Anthem.
Can anyone advise what it is?

Thanks in advance

I think you put it between your brake pads if you were to remove your wheels. So if you happen to compress the lever you don't fully compress the pads against each other.

I think you're right. It's almost a brake pad mold. Thanks!

Its normally used to protect the disk brake pads during transit and before the bike is assembled. When the bike is boxed the front wheel is not installed and this replaces the rotor temporarly. There are several different models depending on the brake make and model.

Definitely a good thing to have around..I usually just use cardboard. Just make sure it is clean before you stick between the pads!

To be picky: there's no harm in the pads touching each other - it's really to stop you popping the pistons out of the caliper if the brake lever gets squeezed when there's no rotor in place to stop them moving to far. Often used in brake bleeds for some models.

^..Yea, but they sure can be a pain in the ass to separate if you have no space between the pads.
