I have the option to swap my aged yet awesome Cannondale m500 CAAD3. It doesnt have any suspension so it is imacculately light and needless to say FAST!!
We dont get to do mountain biking allot and for the most part ride on tarmac but i have found a new love for dirt and trail biking. I have a 2010 Cube Agree SL which i use for roads. to give you an idea of how good and fast the Cannondale is... when my wheels were away on warranty i was using the cannon for riding with my group and comfortably kept up with partner on roadbike with slight extra effort.
As good, fast and reliable the cannon is, on trails, i find myself desiring a change for two reasons: 1) the cannon has an extremely aggressive stance which leaves me with a tured back after 60-100 kms. 2) Cannon doesnt have a suspension so i get a feeling that i would be more comfy riding something with atleast front suspension on the trails and dirt/pebble tracks.
I have an opportunity to sell the Cannondale for $300 and buy a used "Trek 6000 Alloy Frame 9 speed front suspension with adjustable stiffness, and disc brakes; by adding another $300. I only got to try it briefly but the riding position felt good and it didnt feel heavy compared to my CAAD3 which is what generally made me reject previous options.
Do you guys think this is a good deal?
