Hi all, I am looking at getting a new bike, I have a mountain bike which I love for off-road use but would like to do some bike rides - not necessarily competitive right now, but at least starting at 30 miles and up to 100m when I'm ready.
Looking at bikes, not sure if I need a road bike or cyclocross bike. I have had a hybrid before but it seemed every bump in the road I went over I thought I'd break the wheels !!
Since looking in my local bike shop I now see these bikes advertised as cyclocross and they do seem to look stronger than the 'road bikes'
So my question to you is if I purchase something like a KONA Jake or the boardman cyclocross bike as my first bike would this bike be fine for my 30-100m bike rides ?
