Commuting - Fenders...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Are there any fenders that might fit on a '04 Specialized Allez? There's not much clearance there, and I've got 700x23 tires.
My LBS tried to attach some plastic clip-on fenders, but they had no luck, even when dremeling them down a little bit.
Your LBS sucks. My shop did some fenders on mine, had to McGuyver them in place but they worked. They need to be cut down where they fit in between the fork, and probably same at the back between the stays.

What about these: http://www.coloradocyclist.com/common/products/productdisplay2_v2.cfm?PRRFNBR=28632&CGRFNBR=637&CRPCGNBR=637&CI=1,226,637&TextMode=0
Supposedly they work for 700x18-23 - has anyone tried them out?
What about Freddy Fenders "Road" fenders? Have you tried them?

That might work as well. It looks like 35mm fenders MIGHT fit, but I would have to try it - there's not a whole lot of clearance between the tire and the fork. There's more room width-wise in the rear, but the same vertical space of ~3mm.

I'm using those (SKS race blades), they work fine and fit just about any bike. Doesn't stop as much water as real fenders, but no complaints.
