I am running a 44-16T gearing (right side). I am going to be replacing evrything so that I can have a left side drive 39-14 gearing. But I was woundering if I should get a Kink OG, or a Kink light. For now I am only replacing my sprocket, and I will probably have to wait untill summer or later to replace my freewheel. My question is-if I get a 39T sprocket and run messed up 39-16 gearing for 5 months or so would it realy be that bad? Have any of you rode with bad gearing? And do any of you know of any good ides for a 48H hub w/14mm sealed axel and left side drive, and a 14T freewheel that works with it?

Look on dans i think ACS has a freewheel,. and im guessing i've never gone south paw but im panning to, you can use the same sprocket. BTW 39-14 is a low gear ratio.

39-14 is not a small gearing. It might have been small in '97, but it's big now, unless you're a racer.
As for the sprocket, get the Kink Light if you grind mostly on the right. It's not going to get bashed that much.

i broke my hub and rode with a replacement wheel, and it had a 33-16 gearing. i rode it for a week. you will just have a lot of accelaration
39-14 is not a small gearing.
i agree i am riding 10-28 and when it comes out, ill be going down to 8t n sommit

Why the hell would you want a eight-tooth driver? Primo tested the hting for three weeks before stating that it was working great; Odyssey, on the other hand, tested their new stem for two years before even showing a picture of it.
just because i want to. i say anything below 10-28 is pointless but i would still go down to a 8t just because i feel like a change for once. + beerman you are a complete dickhead!

Why? Because I'm right? You want to run something because it's going to be light and trendy, not because it's been thoroughly tested and working properly. There's more than enough problems with nine-tooth drivers as is, and you think that an eight-tooth driver, with smaller, weaker bearings and a smaller outer-diameter that will lead to even more chain wear than the nine-tooths already have will be any better? And, unlike Odyssey and Profile, Primo won't stand behind their product; just look at their non-existant warranty department for proof of that.
to be frank, i properly couldnt give a fuk what you think. mate all ive seen from you is snide little comments. take the milk bike's thread, he wanted posotive feedback and all you gave him was "i think you should learn how to use photoshop". that kind of person that ses that to people trying to get a company off the ground just pisses me off. My bike, my chain, my setup.

um, no offence to anyone who rides smaller than 33 to something, what good is smaller kit if it's just weaker? i'm serious guys, i don't understand it, and is there really a difference between a 8t and a 9t driver? again, i don't wanna insult people.
on my properbikeco cassette i have berings as strong as any other 14t or 16t. it has a driver on it that is not 1pc. no matter wot size cog you put on it, it will always stay as strong, and have the same size bearings. its only when you wonder beneath 10t that you start to get smaller bearings. (this only applies to properbikeco cassette, not sure about anything else)

Once again, I'm completely right; any successful clothing company has someone experienced in graphic design working for them, and clearly, that guy wasn't a graphic designer. The guy took some photos off the web and added some low resolution text. A third-grader could have done that.
And the fact of the matter on the 8-tooth driver issue is that Primo hasn't thoroughly tested the product prior to stating just how great it's working, and it's going to be heavier than a titanium 9-tooth driver (due to its chromoly construction) in addition to having a weaker, smaller diameter bearing, and the even smaller amount of teeth will put even more stress on the chain. Do some research instead of calling me an ass for knowing what the hell I'm talking about.
You completely missed the point there. its not about you knowing everything its just how rude you are to people. anyway i cant be botherd to argue with anyone at the mo. tis the season to be jolly
