Glad to see Horse Country back on the schedule this year.

Special categories:
- Public Servant Open
- High School League (open to all kids of the right ages)
- 40k open to all men and women (no USAC license required)
- teams and tandems

"All entrants must have current USAC annual license or buy a one-day license ($10)."- Per the rules on the website.

I've thought about doing this- looked at the results from a couple of years ago, and they ranged from something like 26 minutes to 46 minutes, and it looked like I'd be at the 46-minute mark.

A question, though- is the turn-around a stripe painted on the road or what?

And another question- what's the difference between the "Kurt Bickel 40K Open (M, W, all Cats)" and the Men 4/5 and the Masters 40+?

Right, so if you don't already have a USAC license ($60/year) then you pay the $10 daily rate onsite, in addition to the entry fee. That makes you a cat 5 for men, cat 4 for women, for the day.

As a 5 or 4, you can ride in the Bickel, or the Men 4/5. I'm pretty sure the 40+ is men cat 1-4 only; that's a very fast field.

AFAIK, the turn-around is staffed with a volunteer to stop traffic and is usually a cone in the road.
