Hello all, 44 years old and still kickin. I have been bikeless for more than a few years until last year when I bought my Surly LHT. I have enjoyed fixin it up over the last year and it remains a project in the works. I haven't been on the forum long but I already have enjoyed many of your posts and pictures (gotta love them pics). I hope for the bike and all the other gear to come together this year and allow me to do some real touring. Last year I stuck to the road and a few dirt trails that extend off of jogging trails. I did do a 50 mile ride on the Nickel Plate Trail here in Indiana last summer. That is a Rails to Trails section in central Indiana. Very nice trail!! I was in Kokomo Indiana (the southern point on the trail) on my bicycle the night of the accident in Indianapolis when the storm kill those people at the concert. The storm came in quick in Kokomo also. I took shelter in a nearby car wash stall. I was looking for the trailhead when it hit. I didn't realize until later that the trail doesn't start that far into town yet and it's location was only proposed at that time. Anyway, good to be here and good to meet all of you.

Welcome to the forums, Shawn!

You look a bit familiar. Maybe I have seen you out riding. I ride downtown in the summer often. I will usually stop at the Java Roaster. Maybe I have seen you in Hodsons or Virtuous Cycle. I bought my LHT from Zoie at Virtous along with many of the extras on my bicycle. I did send my fee in for a membership to the Wabash River Cycle club last year but never went on one ride with any of them. I did show up out at the soccor field in West Lafayette once but nobody else showed that day so I just went on my own ride. I would like to show up for the call out to new riders this year. Looks like a good time. Zoie had formed some night rides last summer but I work 2nd shift and they were always on a day I had to work. Anyway, thanks for the welcome and maybe I will see you around town or on a ride. :thumb:

Might have seen me around Virtuous or at the Roaster. I'm also a coffee hound.
