Woke up with a strong craving for an egg McMuffin. Opted for a bowl of cream of wheat at home. Savings about $2.50 ... and about 200 calories :thumb:

What was your Frugal Decision for the day???

I've been splurging today. I turned the heat on for about 45 minutes.

Later though, I went to the library by bicycle.

As the windchill is 13F, I donned my hoodie and fuzzy microfiber pj pants, crawled under my blanket, and posted on Facebook that today wasn't a good day to try nudism.

Decided to stay home today. My other option was going to a few flea markets. Probably saved hundreds! LOL!

I got elected to coach a boys flag football team by default (my wife led the charge to get the boys signed up and none of the other parents agreed to coach) and I had to get jerseys ordered today. I went with the least expensive jersey the league offered. Saved the parents and myself some money.

I bought a half pound of hot headcheese. Nibbled on that, Ritz crackers, and apples instead of going to the Chinese buffet.

I bought Two Buck Chuck Shiraz at Trader Joe's. I'll let you know later if it was a good frugal move or not.

I bought some slightly used fenders at the co-op today for $10 instead of buying brand new ones.

Good job. Now you won't have to hold a garage sale to buy all the stuff you would have bought at the flea market.

I don't really see the frugality in not showering. Now you're going to have to use twice the soap to clean off the funk.

Got 2 bacon and egg biscuits at Hardee's. Ate one for b'fast, rode some trails, then pulled the other out of my seatbag and had lunch. Tasted just fine cold. $3.33 for both.

I made no frugal decisions today. I overslept, and took a cab to work instead of my bike or bus. I ate oatmeal purchased from the coffee shop across the street from work. I bought yet another iPhone app. I ate lunch at the Mexican restaurant nearby. Bleh.

At this rate, I will run out of money before payday.

I ordered ten pounds of Guatemalan and Costa Rican green beans to roast. Don't remember the last time I bought $$$*bucks coffee. 2 years of roasting and my Popcorn Pumper™ (http://compare.ebay.com/like/270895084554?var=lv&ltyp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar&_lwgsi=y&cbt=y) is still going strong.

Wanker. Come talk to me about frugality when you have 145 pounds of green coffee in your garage.

I almost bought a new TV today and then realized that I don't watch as much TV as I used to. So the one I bought 7 years ago will have to work a bit longer.

Can't really call it frugal because of the initial cost, but we upgraded our phones a couple of weeks ago to Droid Razr Maxxs. 2 of them... ouch. Yesterday, both my wife and I saw different articles that said all Razr phones were buy one, get one free. Since we were still in our 14 day "Worry Free Guarantee" period, we went back to the store today to "return" and re-buy our phones. No problems and we left with a big chunk of change in our pockets. That's pretty frugal, relatively speaking!

First I google what Frugal was... now I know.

My frugal decision was to stay home. I wanted to test the new rifle scope but I only had time for the local ranges that have no benches. I would have had to shoot from standing position and I suck at it. Therefore the test would have been a waste of money, ammo and time... and I would have had to go to another range with benches later on. I saved about $20 bucks.

Probably saved like 10k right there... but, is it worth it?

I hope you smacked the Verizon dolt in the back of the head for not informing you of that fact from the start.

I don't think the word 'frugal' was in most people's vocabulary until the last few years. Now we're all experts at it.

Today I passed by 3 Tim Horton's without buying a coffee ... yes I normally would have bought a large double double.

I wore the same socks as yesterday. If I wash clothes every ten days instead of every seven, in a year I'll save a few cents!

Edit: Actually, I just did the maths and that would save me about $45-$50 over the course of a year.

I'm going to spruce up the house a bit, bake something batter related, and surprise my wife with a candlelight setting when she gets home tonight.

She lost her taste for chocolate after giving birth to our son (now 8), doesn't care for flowers ("they die, so why waste the $?"), she's not into jewelry... so I gotta improvise.

OK, may not sound like being frugal, but I just spent $640 on 6 dockers, 6 dress shirts and 2 belts. I waited until Moores had their 2 for 1 sale :)

1/2 price ... ya baby!!!

So yesterday I noticed our water bill was double the amount from the previous bill. Sure enough, turned out one of our toilets was not working properly and was cycling water constantly. So, I performed a little DIY project and fixed the toilet, and soldered in a new isolation valve that was no longer working. Took 3 hours, cause I suck at plumbing, but I saved a few hundred dollars compared to if I went with a professional instead. No guarantees on my work though.

No, that's the good part. When we got the phones, we paid full price because there was no promotion. The BOGO promotion started later... but since we were within our 14 day no questions return window, we were able to "return" the phones we bought and then re-buy them back, but only pay for one of them!

There's a fine line between frugality and theft. Stealing your neighbour's ho is clearly on the frugality side. Well done! Hopefully she can help with the gardening. Btw, I think you had a bit of a typo there.

So does mine but I tell her I'm marking my territory and she wouldn't understand because it's a guy thing.

Strangely this doesn't mollify her.

While we're on the subject of "adult beverage" I suggest trying Ruskova vodka.

I'm no expert but this is some really smooth vodka for cheap. I was a big fan of Tito's until I compared the two.
