Touring - Has anyone tried the new BioLogic Pango Folding Helmet?

Our next tour is going to have several legs where we pack up the bikes and fly/bus/train/ferry with them. We're in the process of getting Bike Friday's with suitcase trailers. When traveling with our bikes and gear the helmets seem to stand out as space eaters. They don't weigh much but tend to take up a lot of valuable (and expensive) room.

I saw these BioLogic Pango folding helmets (http://www.thinkbiologic.com/products/pango-folding-helmet) by clicking on one of their banner ads here. It seems it might alleviate some of that problem. They look a fair bit sturdier than the regular helmet, a good thing because I tend to kill helmets I tour with. I wonder if that's true.

nothing new under the sun, a seatpost pump was a good idea back in 1988 with the odyssey aerator, which I still have on my touring bike!

Dahon equiped their newer folder Speed TR model with that seatpost pump. My TR was prior to this and I've heard mixed results from users on the BF folder forum.

BioLogic initially announced the Pango would be for sale in N.A. Don't mean to jump to conclusions, but one has to wonder if there has been an issue passing the CPSC test regime.

The Stash (http://www.bhsi.org/helmet12.htm#stash) folding helmet may or may not still be in production. It also has never been CPSC certified.

I carry a small backpack onto the plane along with an old fabric brief case, the helmet is inside the backpack. The helmet takes space but when I pack my rain jacket inside the helmet, etc., the space needs are not too excessive. The sole purpose of the briefcase is to allow me to carry a second bag on the plane as a "personal item", it gets folded up and stowed after I get off of the plane. Most airlines allow you to carry one carryon bag and one "personal item" such as a brief case or computer case.

as for you being tough on helmets, my take on seeing the video is that this would be more fragile than a reg helmet. Not sure how you tend to kill helmets but it seems to me something with a hinge or folding setup would be more susceptible to being abused, especially along the folding or hinged areas.
