I picked this up at an estate sale a few months ago, and have slowly whittled away at the rust. It's a fun ride. First time owning a bike made before I was born, and my first IGH bike as well.

Alas, it's too small and will go up for sale once I get the speedometer working/replaced, and ditch the rear rack.

Very nice rust clean up there!

The Schwinn lightweights were great solid bikes. Love the speedo!

That turned out incredibly nice atmo!! The only issue I have with this is that rack. PLEASE make it level or remove it. A Wald rack would be a natural fit for that bike.

A Speedster shouldn't have a rack. It's a "speedster".
Nice job.

I should have known that but somehow missed that point. It shows how little I know about the speedster category. :(

Thanks, folks. Trust me, the rack is not going to stay.

Were the rusted handlebars replaced or cleaned?

^Nothing was replaced except the cables and one inner tube. The early Schwinns have remarkable paint and chrome.
