I'm the original poster----located around Washington DC but also often in Philadelphia area ...and I would travel for the right bike!

Washington DC? When you said your looking for a "canal cruiser" I automatically thought of the South West and the All American Canal system

C&O Canal from Wash DC is great

55 to Harpers Ferry WV

184 to Cumberland MD, which i want to do in 15 hrs

And 300ish to Pittsburgh

And canals north of Trenton NJ too near where i grew up

I.'ll google the all american

Nice 55cm Pista on Dc craigslist lately

I have the same bike in 52 but 55 would be better

A brief aside as I've lived in New Mexico for years. What's the "All American Canal system"? Do mean acequias (which is an irrigation system)?

Edit - googled it. Interesting, it's near Yuma...
