Is it possible to use a SRAM top gear cog and SRAM lockring on an otherwise Shimano cassette?
Is it possible to use a SRAM top gear cog and SRAM lockring on an otherwise Shimano cassette?I couldn't see any issues with the ones I compared.
In my experience, mixing & matching first cogs/lockrings between Shimano & SRAM works fine - just remember to use compatible cogs (8-speed with 8-speed, 9-speed with 9-speed, etc). You can also use SRAM chain quick links with like Shimano chains.

are you gearing for a ride if so what ride and what are you thinking in terms of gears....?
