Hi, selling my road tandem and a couple of folks have asked what year it is. Hoping to get something solid here... I'm thinking late 70s / early 80s but would like to hone in a little more than that.

It's a 5-speed, and blue. Wheels are 27". Captain is 54cm seat tube, with a 47cm stoker. Rear brake is a drum.

Thanks

At least 78-82. Catalogue pages here:

If the Twinn uses the same system of SNs, I /think/ SN should be on the left rear dropout with the form XX#####, where the second letter is the year (A=1965, B=1966,...) and the first letter is the month (A=Jan, B=Feb,...). Letters "I" and "O" are skipped.

There will be a serial number on either the left rear drop out where the wheel bolts on or on the head tube bottom right side. The first 2 letters in the serial number give the year and date. With the serial numbers there are several sites that have serial number lists. 5 speeds were called Deluxe Twinns and were made from 1965 to about 1980. With 27 inch wheels it is a later one built roughly 1975 to 1980. Roger
