This is the worst of it, got my knee, shin, left hand, and chest. Good thing I was in front of my house. Got the wind knocked out of me. The ringing ears, felt like passing out, didn't make it inside but made it to the car port haha.

Might have to super glue those 3 darker gashes.

Well, you're sure clumsy or something.
Ouch, ouch and ouch. That's not a super glue solve ... good wrap after a good scrub/rinse and some neosporin! ow!
<edit> upon closer look - got some butterfly bandages? That will help some of those gashes close. You crash into a cactus or something? (j/k), still ow.

Clean the whole thing up really well Fuzzy, Betadine is THE BEST STUFF to clean it up with, and lets not forget you just got over that thumb thing and don't want to risk an infection in that hulk of a mess you have going there so pay special attention to the three deeper wounds, after you clean them up well pinch them closed and apply the crazy glue to the surface so that your sealing it closed on the outside only. Do not put glue inside the wounds! BTW your pretty ****in' tough........for a girl! :D ;)

Maybe, this is the first time in years. I was just messing around trying to do sweet stuff and got tangled with my bike while flying over my handlebars. Got fast reaction to cover my face so the bad stuff is right there on the arm.

I just got max strength neosporin and it has failed me. I also bought butterfly bandages but I need super glue otherwise they aren't sticking atm.

Yea I know the drill.... I don't know if I should use super glue for this. Some gashes are deep enough but the way they are I don't know if I should. They are more like holes and gluing them could possibly look worse then letting them be. I'll wait till it stops oozing.

The wounds do look more like holes - I don't know that super glue would work on something like that.

I was joking about the shotgun It'd be different if I was a "roadie" or whatever but I'm not. I've fallen off my bike numerous times and got gnarly scars or whatever. Thought I'd share since it has been a while

Yerck... I did that 30 years ago by flying over the handlebars on my converted-Varsity mountain bike. I just taped up the worst and let 'em heal. I still have the scars on my left elbow.
I did a similar job recently when a stick got stuck in my rear wheel and I "slid into home". If I hadn't banged my elbow on the pavement, I wouldn't have spilled the cup of coffee I was carrying. As it was, I split it open, and had it sewed up at the ER. The doc said it would have healed on its own, but since I work in a hospital now (not the one that sewed me up), I thought it prudent to close the wound. MRSA and VRSA aren't things to mess around with.

Sorry about your tumble fuzzbox. That's never fun. In the old day we'd use gauze pads and medical tape for those big scrapes. And Neosporin. Or if you want to go old school there's iodine or mercurichrome instead of Neosporin, but I wouldn't recommend them.

I recommend a two week holiday to someplace warm and sunny, the warmth a will help ease the stiffness in the muscles and the sun wil help to dissolve the congealed blood in the bruise. Also recommend the application of ethanol (rum in particular)to the wound by the internal route. :) Heal quick, Lady Fuzzbox.

I can't see the photo, but I vote you wait for scarring completion and then work it topographically into a new tatt.

Yeah, We're probably related somehow.

Abusing one's self in pursuit of pleasure leads to the Emergency Room.
Geez, Fuzzy! Your medical insurance is gonna put you on the watch list.
So, fuzzy wuzzy, are you finally convinced that you should be wearing elbow helmets? http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o305/spike110820/smile.gif

My face went through the back window of a Toyota, so it wasn't spared. Fortunately for me it knocked me out so I missed out on the pain and blood. I did get stitches in the 3-digit range. My face has healed but my back will always be injured.
Be thankful that you got relatively minor injuries.

I hate scars. Not looking forward to it. I will never wear elbow pads. This was an unexpected. I had a long streak of no injuries till now. I'm just glad it happened in front of my house and not at some random place because it'd be unfortunate if an ambulance was called for something like this. Oh and if you click on it a bigger pic will come up.

It looks pretty bad now. But I would guess that within a year or two, you'll have only small, light scars where the deep cuts are now, and nothing more.
Being an old fart, I can recall a lot of deep gashes I've gotten in various places from all kinds of severe bang-ups, working construction, kick starting my old brit motorcycle, bike crashes, snorkeling gashes, and even getting whacked in the face with a two-by-four during a fight. To tell you the truth, I'm hard pressed to find the scars for all but the worst ones.
PS: I was kidding about elbow helmets. I figure if I feel like I have to armor myself that much to ride, I'll take up a more sedentary sport, like bowling. http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o305/spike110820/thumbsupicon2ii.gif

more updated pics. Doesn't look as bad but it is super swollen and my knee looks like there is a ping pong ball coming out of my skin haha. I figured that I'd something like this would happen soon or later with how things were progressing. I think I'm just going to go back to the gym. I'd figure because of the cooler weather I'd do outside activities but I'm going to put it on hold for a bit.

I heard there was some damage around the chest area, any pics of that? :innocent: ;)
A relatively hot bath with some salt in the water once or twice a day for a few days might not hurt.
Neosporin and gauze at night while you're sleeping would probably speed up the healing too.
Been there, done that. It works pretty well. Also, eat lots of protein, red meat especially, if you're not a vegan or vegetarian.
Yep, can see it now and call me weird but with those fine lines i'm seeing flame-type shapes and similar possibilities to weave that into something really beautiful. Although except for the small deeper abrasions, I think if you really stay on top of treating them, you shouldn't get much or any scarring at all once it heals. Dang that musta been a crash to see!

I don't know about a tattoo right there. Maybe in a really long time from now. I'm working on my other arm but I won't finish the other half of the arm until I've established my career.
