Bicycle Mechanics - Seatpost issues need help please !!!

Well here is my current issue's
I have 2 road bikes that state from the company they use a 27.2mm seat posts

ON my 1st bike(Scattante CFR ) the seat post was stuck to the point where the only way to remove it was to twist it off :cry: in the process I damaged it a little in terms of looks.
now I can get the seatpost back in but it does not just slide in easy with out a bit of force ,I did try to open up the top where the seat post clap is at but it didnt help now I used some grease :eek:( I know I know a big mistake and I cleaned it all up now ) and when I did the sestpost did go in much more easy ,I purchased a new 27.2mm seat post to replace this one but it also does not slide in easy as well.

on my 2nd bike(build) A Orbea orca frame 2006 Im having the same issue, only thing is I cant get the seat post in past about 1 " or less and I dont want to force the seatpost in.


What to do :(

I'd inspect the tubeID with a flashlight and look for trouble. If nothing, I'd take a smaller seatpost or tube, wrap it in sandpaper and manually ream the sticky ID of the seattube smooth. Seems to me it ought to take 30 seconds for each.

Are these steel frames? If they are you can either take them to a shop and ask to have the seat tubes honed or very slightly reamed

At home I just use a brake cylinder hone for this task.

Head to a bike shop before you get one terminally stuck, or damage the bike. Never, ever, force a seat post. I just finished removing the remnants of a 27.3mm seat post, that had sheared off inside the seat tube (bike was sized for a 26.8mm seat post).

+1 I use a brake hone on older steel bikes, as I tend to find burrs and other defects in the seat tube.

the bikes are both carbon bikes

You should still be able to use an adjustable reamer, done at a well equipped bike shop,
and carefully clean up the ID of the composite seat tube just until the chosen seat post fits.
you will be cutting away Epoxy rather than steel or aluminum , but a sharp reamer should do the job.( + a cutting fluid )

Took my 27.0 RB1 out to 27.2, since it was my bike, it took about 45 minutes to do carefully.
cutting until the post Just Fit. then stopped cutting.

have shop do it and advise on when to grease and when not to

UPDATE:
Well I took the bike to My LBS (The original bike shop)that many friends recomended and they fixed the problem.
Here is what happen .
When I purchased the frame the original owner used a smaller seat post clamp and seat post ,thus crushing in the aluminum tube inside a bit .MY LBS spread the tube open a tab a used a reamer like Fietsbob suggested as well.
All it well now with my new seat post and clap on my ORBEA now to put the reamer in the Scattante..
