Touring - Windsor Tourist - Where would I find a replacement FreeHub?

Gentlemen,

I purchased a Windsor Tourist last April and the FreeHub seems to be harder to turn than it should be. This was probably my stupid fault for riding thru some high water during the fall.

I've removed the FreeHub and was curious if anyone here knew who makes it / what model # it is / where I can find a replacement? I've found a few that look similar, but can't find any that have the same small spline adapter (the lighter grey part that installs into the wheel hub, not the part that you put the cassette on)

frankgg, What brand is the hub? Have you tried flushing with WD-40 and then using some tri flow to lube?

I don't know who makes the wheel hub, I don't think there's any name on it. I have not tried flushing with WD-40, I will try when I get home today. I have some Park Tool Polylube coming for the hub ball bearings, would I be able to use that in the freehub to lube, or do I need something easier to spray into it?

That might be a tough one. Have you posted the question on the mechanics subforum? You probably stand a better chance of somebody recognizing it over there. I dunno about greasing it- apparently some people do that, but all I`ve ever given freewheel mechanisms anything has been motor oil.

I'd get the wheel rebuilt or replaced, with a Shimano Hub so you can find spares, readily.

That looks like a Shimano freehub. Did you remove it from the wheel with a 10 mm Allen wrench?

Replacement should be pretty easy. Any decent LBS should be able to order you one; the only ripple in the water is getting the right number of speeds (9 in your case, I believe). If your LBS can't or won't order it for you, try Loose Screws.
