A 100-year-old cyclist from France has set a new age group world record for The Hour an incredible 86 years after his first competitive race.
Robert Marchand rode 24.251 kilometres in one hour, and explained, “I’m not playing at being a champion. I just wanted to do something for my 100th birthday,” reports the UCI. The previous record distance was not revealed.

Hey, now all us old gits have something to aim for. :) Good on him.
Impressive.... to say the least.
I thought this thread was going to be about a 30-year old steel bike. ;)
I think maybe the term you were looking for is "centenarian."

Yes, a "centurion" was a Roman officer who commanded 100 soldiers. It was also the make of the first bicycle I bought as an adult in 1971, with steel 27x1 1/4 rims & tires, heavy "hi-tensile steel" frame, and cheap Japanese components. A Centurion LeMans, that I used on my first Berkeley Wheelmen club rides, going toe-to-toe with riders on their Cinellis, Pogliaghis, PX-10's, etc. before I was shamed into upgrading to a PX-10. Rode that Centurion to classes at Cal State Hayward, until it was stolen on the last day. So there's the 40-year-old steel bike story!

With me "the look" would turn into a glance of pity.
