Hi, I have just recently got the Specialized Vita (womens equivalent of Sirrus) Sport.

I am looking for some bar ends to improve my riding positing / give me variety of hand placement.

Can you recommend some decent ones for this bike?

Also will they be easy to fit or would i need my LBS to do this for me?

Many thanks

Bar ends you can put on yourself. With that said, find a set you like and go for it! There are quite a few from really short ones to really long, curved ones. It all depends on what you like.

Size and style is a matter of preference. I don't like stubby bar ends. I had a set of long bar ends and ended up cutting them off to about the length of the ones at the link. http://www.tredz.co.uk/.BBB-Classic-Bar-Ends_50569.htm That length gives me a comfortable wrist angle when I'm at the end of the bar ends and lets me place my thumb flat on the end cap when I want to do that.

I like narrow clamps(which don't require you to move your grips inward as much) like the ones on the bar ends at the link. Mine are like that(different brand though), and I've never had a problem with them slipping.

I LOVE my Ergon GC3's:

http://www.ergon-bike.com/us/en/product/gc3

They come in size Small and Large, which is explained on page 18 of this Ergon Catalog:

http://www.ergon-bike.com/us/en/files/files/view/1847/ERG_Bike_WB_INT_110411.pdf

The size has to do with the diameter of the grip and how your hand fits around it. I'm a woman, and have smaller hands, so I went with the Small's.

This type of bar end is integrated with the grips, so if you're looking for JUST the bar-end, obviously this won't work for you.
