It looks very nice, and I did some reading on the Columbus Genius tubing.
Not that I have $2k to drop on this right now, but is this what one would expect to pay for a frameset like this?

Unicrown fork, yuck. Not that I know anything about that bike, but I wouldn't get excited about it unless it was under $500.

That has an awesome paint job, I love that dull metallic finish

That frame has been on ebay for at least 6 months. It seems most of the world does not think it is worth the asking price.

Yes, i noticed - google "cinelli genius" and that frameset is like 90% of the results - i'm thinking of mentioning that to the seller.

What would be a reasonable price?

I've never seen a frame with verticle dropouts using the adjustment screws....I can't imagine their use. A wheel should always be placed all the way in on verticle drops...Although I do trust Cinelli to have done the right thing, just never seen it before...

It's certainly worth a LOT more than $500 on the market, but yeah, I'd say $2,000 is high. They sell new Cinellis...I THINK Genius tubing, for about $1,700 sometimes. Retail is probably around $2,100ish I'd guess. I think somewhere around $1,000 - $1,200 is about market on this.

I have seen the adjustment screws on vertical dropout on a few mountain bikes but never a road bike.

That frame has what are referred to as semi-vertical dropouts. They are not the same as a true vertical dropout. I've never had a frame with dropouts like that.

I messaged the guy and said the price is too high - if it ends without a buyer let me know, etc.
Fact of the matter is that he probably will sell it some day for that price.

If aliens landed, went to every corner of the earth eating only and every Cinelli frame on the face of the Earth, but some how forgot that one because it was carefully sealed and thrown to a bottom of a lake to save it from the awful wrath of the Cinelli-eating aliens...well then, maybe, it might be worth $2K.

I've seen more overpriced and silly frames than this one.

Out of curiosity, what about a NOS Super Corsa? Would that be worth $2k?

I've that dropouts on my tommasini tecnoextra, made in nemo tubes.
many nemo and genius frames have that dropouts(cinelli proxima and nautilus)
this cinelli frame seems an early nautilus,if NOS his value,in italy, is about 250 euro's.

NFW - $500 bux max. Aside from the Cinelli decal, it's nothing special.

I agree I am ot Cinelli expert but I would not go over $500. However that paint is something else!

Current retail for a super corsa is $2700. But then again, retail is for goyim.

I think Sante is saying that in Italy he will not get more than 250 euros...that's what we, the Australians, and the Japanese are for.

I like to find (good) frames around the $350 (or less) mark...but...they're never NOS. I don't care because I plan to ride them, and riding injures frames...sooner or later.

I bet it rides pretty nice...Cinelli, Genius, filet brazed...hell I'd throw a Columbus Minimal fork on there and be done with it.

My 2c.

When I read the above an old Blondie song came to mind, but there the aliens were eating cars first.

The frame is interesting, the workmanship appears pretty good, the color is interesting too, the owner is not all bad he keeps a motorcycle in the living room, but it may not be marketable at the asking price. There is rare and there is valued, and sometimes one does not get both in the same item.

I have a columbus genius frame sans the lugs with Peugeot decals and i was told it was pretty much worthless cos it was steel and no one wants them anymore. It's a pretty snappy ride much stiffer then my 531 Gitane but that one just can't be worth 2 grand
