I have been having a blast in the snow with the Trek but wanted to change it up a little. I took my old cruiser friday. In the morning I went up the asphalt bike path to the top of South Canyon Park and then down the awesome hard packed snow WWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

After work I tried to ride Hidden Mesa. Conditions were horrible so it did not happen (really chunky ice/snow and where there was no snow was very muddy looking), but I will find other areas!

Morning run!

You using studs at all?

no studs (Other than the one pedaling that is... LOL). They were just basic tires for a cruiser bike, made the corners really fun with the coaster brake!

You using studs at all?Studs are only good for ice, for off roading in the fluffy stuff any MTB tire will do. I haven't had my studs on for quite a while.

True, but with coaster brakes the ice becomes a lot of fun on the corners!

Sometimes it's good to just hop on a bike and go for a ride, and leave all the techno-babble gearhead crap behind. Normal clothes, normal shoes, no computers, cadence, heart rate monitors or GPS... just ride for the enjoyment of riding. Having a cruiser bike for that is even better.

I like the idea of a coaster brake...that would be a lot of fun.

That is how I roll.. LOL. The only thing I have on any bike that is not that way is on my SS I have to clip into my spd pedals hahahaha. Been computer free now for years and won't go back, it took the fun out of the ride.

Give it a try sometime!
