ehh the producers look at ad revenues based on ratings and political agenda.... It'd have to be a slow news week.
I suppose large number of cyclist were riding in the nude it might end up on DateLine. Sex sells. ;-)
Aren't you someone?
Indeed! Why don't you call and ask. Let us know what they say.

Self reliance is a hallmark of any dedicated cyclist.
Sounds like a good idea... they have had some good stuff about some things that I am interested in... this would be good.
I've noticed Dateline seems to do weird murder/court stories.

We have a 6-time TdF winner, and only one obscure cable network even runs the race on TV. Face it; our super-sized, suburb-intensive, Prozac lifestyles have no room for cycling. Most Americans don’t even consider it to be a sport.
I don’t think we’re going to get a program based on the interaction between cyclists, and motorists anytime soon. There is simply no interest, or money in it for the broadcasting station.
90 to one sez if such a thing were done it'd feature more negative/bad behavior on cyclists part and a few tongue in cheek remarks from "experts" Maybe a "ask the public" segment too.
If viewers are what a show is all about, and most any show on primetime is about getting viewers then it'll be a "documentary" designed to look informative and unbiased while appealing to the masses that found the Clear Channel tactic so amusing.

Most Americans don’t even consider [cycling] to be a sport.
But "motorsports" are...go figure... ;)
Anyway, any TV news magazine story on motorists and cyclists would no doubt be spun to the liking of the motoring majority that also make up the majority of the viewing audience, so the message is likely to be of the "cars first", "it's dangerous to cycle on the roads", "cyclists need to obey the traffic laws" variety, anyway. So no thanks!
News shows have car ads, not bike ads.

I never realized that until watching the local news last night. Literally, every other commercial was a car ad(at least 5 distinct brands). Scary stuff.
Maybe a reality TV show?
Challenge a few people to ride from coast to coast on a bike and record what happens.
I think this would be more interesting than watching people eat goat organs.
Maybe get Paris H. as a participant and see if she can get someone to fix her flat for
her.
It'll never work
