What are your impressions?

I bought one new back in 1995, made a few mods, then sold it on Ebay last year. It rode like any other steel road fixie.

Wow, that must have fetched a pretty penny on ebay.

No, not really, compared to someone else's Scorcher which fetched over $2,100 just last week on Ebay. I was tracking that listing. A thousand bucks would have been more realistic, IMO...
To view this guy's Ebay listing, go to the sticky Ebay thread's very first posting by schwinnbikelove. If I post the Ebay link here, this thread will be automatically moved and mixed in with the sticky thread.

Wasn't that Scot Nicol's bike, though?

I don't know Scot Nicol. You mean last week's Ebay item #7117684139? I don't want to post direct link as explained above.

Yeah, that's the one.
Scot was the founder of Ibis. Still a silly amount of money.

were those handlebars made by ibis? are they still available to buy? i have a bike that's just ACHING for a set of those....i'm getting some of the all-rounders this week, i think they're a lot like the north road bars, but only 39cm wide!

I know it's not the same, but you could try Nitto B617 Promenade bars. they are 45cm wide, and don't have the upward curve, but otherwise pretty close and not too expensive.
