Does anyone have advice on cheap bikes that makes good e bike conversions? I would like to get a bike that I can put a rear hub motor on. It would really save the budget if I could get one from yard sale or a Walmart. I am a little concern on brands, the bike I have now I can’t use because the way my derailleur is placed on my bike. So I am looking for advice if anybody has to any offer. Thanks

Your first consideration should be does the bike fit you? I'm 6'2" and walmart bikes are too small. if I was 5'9"-5'11" A Hardtail MTB would have worked. A Full Suspension MTB bike would be nice but battery mounting becomes an engineering exercise in and of itself. I'd stay with a 26" MTB bike. I went with a Giant Sedona in large size. Sometimes I wish I'd went with the XL.
