Each year's model is different. I had a 2009 and one of the rack eyelets broke off on my first tour :( At least another poster on BF reported the same issue.

The basic bike is nice as far as build quality, braze-ons, geometry, brakes, shifters and wheelsets go. Nothing exitic but designed to do the job.
But the choice of colors has been really poor for several years running and I'd junk their racks immediately.

The racks aren't all that bad. The rear is Racktime, I think, and the front is MEC.

I have a 2011 model and love it. No issues at all with racks,braise ons or anything else.

don't have a Sutra buy have 5 other Kona bikes. all are solid and reliable. 1 MTB, two 'cross bikes, two road bikes.

I love my Sutra, have close to 3000 miles on it and have not had 1 issue with it. I did upgrade the cranks for better gear range.
