Is the price for this bike fair? I have only one bike and have never owned a fixed gear or older bike. What kind of things should I look for when I go to check it out? My work commute is 3 miles on flat ground. The bike would be used for that and short errands.

I would look elsewhere. The "fixie" fad is dying and bikes can be had cheaper than a few years ago. This is a really -----ded looking conversion, I would not touch it with a 10 foot pole if only to save the frame from that horrible adjustable stem and riser bars.

The frame is from the late 1980s, originally between the higher up Prelude and Tempo. A nice frame but not worth $350. For that money you can get a pretty decent new fixed gear from bikesdirect.com

thanks for the quick response. Not really sure it is what I wanted anyways after looking at it. I will want drop bars which means more $. I'm going to keep looking. I was going to offer around $200 but you definitely helped me rethink that

+1 Stay away from that thing. It's actually a 1988 Premis which would be a decent bike if not all cobbled up.
