I would not ride in 10 degrees with or without a wind...

My temp cut off is 25. Below that even with superb protective gear it quickly becomes no fun.

Yeah I just rode at 20 today. Once I got to a higher elevation I think it was more like 10.

Not only wasn't it fun, my form got so bad and I was not concerned with training (wanted ride to be over) that I don't think it did any good.

(But my trainer is worn out and I'm going to buy rollers soon, so I couldn't have ridden inside.)

:D :D :D

OTOH, I usually stop around 30 degrees (as long as it streets are dry and snowless)... Don't mind the cold, but the winds piss me off royally... Hate them, especially those gusty ones, you can't get into a rhythm...

25 is about as low as I go. That is when my nose starts running faster than I am peddlin, Today I am visiting daughters family in Helper Utah (El. about 5500ft.) 15 degrees, started to ride and quit fast, and I usually don't give up so easy. Oh well eat too much and have a merry christmas all you bikers.

Freakin right on, man. I'll take anything but that gawd dang gusty wind. Man it drives me nuts. A constant 30mph wind is better than 10mph with gusts of 20mph. Hell, even the constant 10mph winds get on my nerves. It realy takes away my motivation; the same hard effort results in squat in terms of speed and/or distance. I hate it.

Whne you ride in wind it gets so hard to concentrate in my opinion.. (I am always wories about staying upright or avoiding blowing tumbleweeds, etc. If the weather is at all bad I would rather stay on the trainer...

Riding in the wind and the cold makes you more hardcore than the other chums you line up with at the start of the season. That's how I get thru the crappy rides.

A week ago i went out too far and misjudged my distance and had to ride home the last 6-8 miles in dusk/darkness. I coulda called for an emergency broom wagon, but then I thought "I got in this mess...I might as well get myself out" :D

The best part is when you get inside, safe and warm again, and you feel tough and you think (in a kind way), "Dammit, I'm just a little better than those wimps who stayed indoors today."
