This is my college history project and i need to teach my class something that has been around for at least 100 years. I choose fountain pens, and id like to teach some "hand on" writing with fountain pens type activities.

History shows nobody ever learns anything from history.

For 25 bucks plus mileage you can take me to college. "Aborigenous Puertoricanz" from the invaded territories. Been with you since 1898 :D

True, but since about 1970's there has been a revival of fountain pens and ive been an avid user for 2 years now and there are no plans on me stopping.

You might have gotten support here if you were to research something bicycle related. $4,000 bucks to teach about fountain pens?

History is just one effin' thing after another. Besides, that's all in the past.

Why fountain pens? Why not something relevant, like bicycles?

I actually was a fountain pen salesman for 2 years. little known rube'fact(TM). If been like 20 years, Montblanc was my best seller.

Get some inkpots, tell them to wear old clothes, and teach the kids how to refill the fountain pen... and pluck a goose for the quills, just for some added entertainment.. have then try to copy out the Declaration of Independence or Constitution - give an A+ to the student who can do it with a quill & no mistakes!

I do not mean to be an a**, but your request for funds to teach writing is rather poorly written.

Why don't you teach them how to roll a cigarette? They did that 100 years ago.
