My wifes friend has a couple Peugeots in excellent condition that asked me to sell them for her. They are in orginal condition and look like they have seen little use. I have a sold a few UO8's over the years between $150 and $200, but have found a wide range of values on the UE8 bikes from $250 to $995. I live in a big city that loves bikes, so demand is pretty high. Anyone else have experience selling these bikes? The mens bike she has has the upright bars and its white. The mixte picture is very similar to what she has. The bike pictures are not hers, but similar.

Finding a buyer for a set of matched bicycles is an incredible long shot but it does happen. I have identical bicycles in The Old Shed right now and would happily accept $150.00 for any of the half dozen or so that hang there.

To that, add this...
The blue man's bicycle pictured was found at a Yard Sale, given to me for free and then sold to a fellow in Australia. He paid between one and two hundred dollars for the bicycle, close to $600.00 for shipping, and another couple of hundred dollars for fumigation/quarantine, before receiving the bicycle.
If you take some time to have a look at Vintage Bicycle Value (http://www.mytenspeeds.com/My_TenSpeeds_1/FREE_SITE_VALUE/VALUE_1_Start.htm), you might be better prepared to offer the bicycles for sale and at a fair price. Good luck with your bikes.

After rehab I'd put them on my local Craigslist for around $200.00 each but I'd bet they wouldn't go super fast at that price.
As is needing the work they need and knowing the amount of time I'd spend on them I'd only pay $50-$60 each for them but again, I'd be buying them strictly to rehab them so you could probably get a bit more from a person that was buying it to ride.
My rehab would involve complete tear down, cleaning, servicing all bearings, all new cables and housings, tires, tubes, chains, bar wrap etc. I don't simply flip them.
I also just noticed that you posted pics of bikes "similar" to hers, without pics of the actual bikes there is NO way to estimate value.
.
Just realized pictures posted are not the two bikes you are seeking estimates for, so I am deleting most of my comments.
I can't guess without actual pics but I think the range of values in the OP is dreamland. I've sold quite a few over the years, but usually avoid entry french bikes from that era due to unusual obsolete part sizing (where some replacement parts are available, but they are pricey compared to the standard stuff). Need to be further up the product line to make it worth it IMHO.

I am just trying to get a feel for aproximate values before I list. I flip over 60 bikes a year, so I am not a newby to reselling bicycles. Like I said the UO8's will go for $150 to $200 in my area. The lady that owns them needs cash soon for a car that needs major repairs. I am going to start the pricing at $250 each and go down if I have to. The bikes she has are complete, original and near mint. I just figured they should be worth a little more then the UO8 with the fenders and lights. I saw one going for $999 on Ebay and it sent me a red flag. Thanks for your help http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-1970s-Peugeot-UE-8-700C-road-racing-bike-Randoneur-blue-Simplex-touring-/350510065834?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item519c0728aa
ebay is the land of variance. Saw an old Schwinn Super Sport, with a bent fork, go for over $1000 once. Then others sit at $100. If you have the stomach for it, ebay can bring the most, sometimes. Your logic makes sense. Just take what you can get for a UO8, then add a nice premium for fenders, lights and racks. If you can get $150 to $200 for a UO8, then surely you should be able to get $250, maybe more for each for these two.

I am currently working on building road touring builds and may go that route. I'm just doing my wifes friend a favor selling these bikes. Pretty sure they may go for $250 a piece when the good weather comes. thanks for your info and support

I think they are worth $1000 each.
Are you happy, now?:D
If you flip 60 bikes a year, my friend, you don't need anyone to hold your hand.

1. Need pictures to determine value.
2. You'll probably have better luck selling them separate than getting lucky and finding someone that wants them both. But hey, CL ads are free and easy. Might as well try it both ways.

Not a completed auction, and the mis-named budget bicycle center always has "optimistic" pricing.
Just for kicks, I looked at their feedback. They actually sell a few complete bikes, not just components, at prices I couldn't imagine paying. Most of the high$ sales were balloon-tire stuff that I wouldn't ride, so they're of no value to me. Didn't see any lightweights sold in my cursory scan.

+1000 No one should ever value their bicycle based on the BIN price of a bike for sale at "Budget" Bicycle Center. They are so far off the mark I'm surprised they sell anything.

Here is my bikes. Original condition with speedometer that had 151 miles on it. All parts are there. The seats are mint. One is Europa and the other is Peugeot. I have worked on a lot of Peugeots and haven't see them in this good of condition.
I listed the bikes on Craiglslist for $500 for the pair. Will seperate. I took off speedometer but will throw in as a bonus if buyer pays full price.

That ebay listing seemed suspicious, like they were looking for a sucker to pay an inflated price. Maybe a PX10 would go for that , but not a UE8. Its just a glorified UO8 with fenders and lights.

They are so far off the mark I'm surprised they sell anything. When you sell really nice bikes you hate to give them away on Craiglist. I noticed some web sites where they restore bikes and they are asking 3 times of what I would ask. I would gladly restore a bike if I could get the prices they are asking. I had a book store on Ebay and stopped when they hiked their listing fees 7 times as high. When you sell there plan on giving up about 25%. Craiglist has been pretty good, but I'm close to a big city and the market is good. Moving to a small town where that may all change.

Those do appear to be exceptionally nice, I'd say $250.00 each to the right buyer is within reason.
This is my favorite E-bay Peugeot, it's been listed and relisted for at least a couple years now at the same price.

I got one like that in my garage that I have no ambition to put back together and sell. I paid $100 for it because it needed some work including paint touch up. I know the most I can get out of it is $150, but after 7 or 8 hours of work , it will be a loss. No one wants to pay much unless they are mint condition. They are tanks and have the cottered crank. Two strikes against them, so not as popular as newer bikes
