Welcome to the Weekly Inspiration Network!
Since many of us do a better job of sticking to our goals if we have a little public accountability, here's a way to get some support for your efforts towards a healthier you.
If this is your first time posting, let us know what is is you're trying to do, where you are now, and what your goal is. You might be trying to lose weight, or exercise more regularly, or home-cook more meals, or even spend more quality time with your family.
Then every week, let us know how you did the week before.
We'll read each others posts & cheer each other on.
Oh, and if Monday comes around and no one has started the new thread for the week yet -- feel free to copy this post, change the numbers and dates in the title, and get things started. Thanks!

Well, that didn't work. I spent the whole week being besieged by work, and it looks like this week will be hectic, too. But on the good news side, this week I'll be working at a site about 6-7 miles from my home: bicycle commuting time!

Last week was a weird week. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday I did long rides with the guys and felt great. Thursday I lifted weights and did core stuff. Friday I was off and felt wiped and ate too much. Same with Saturday. It was yucky out and I did nothing and ate too much. Sunday I did a bird trip and ate too much. Now today I was going to do a long ride with the guys but I am not sure they will go, the weather is iffy. If they don't go I will do a shorter ride I guess, later in the day when the weather should improve.
Weight is up at 105.8 this morning from my 104 low. It probably was natural variability plus all the extra calories I ate in the past week or two. I'm cutting that down a bit. I am way over my allotment.

As you can see I'm still headed in the right direction, I am suffering right now with a back issue. Pulled some muscles removing a seat from the van...dummy! Hopefully it won't affect my workouts too much.

I lost 2 lbs last week, which is still on target, and have lost 22.5 lbs since the beginning of the year, when I started the program. According to my projections, if I continue to stick to the diet and exercise program I've been on, I should fall below the official Clyde threshold within 2 weeks, fall below the BMI obesity threshold within a month, and reach my target weight (160 lbs) by early summer. Sooner if I step up my exercise once it gets a little warmer out.
On a tangential note, I've been working on my monitoring and trend analysis tools in Excel, and have added some cool stuff. I guess I don't really need these tools as long as I stick to the program, but it's been fun to get better at Excel and to be able to use signal processing and data analysis techniques for something as silly as looking at my weight.
Goldfinch - I read most of The Hacker's Diet, and I still love his pragmatic approach. I am just about done developing my own "Eat Watch". Mine, rather than being based on a simple exponential smooth and/or linear regression, uses a model based on the Active Metabolic Rate, calibrated to my own body's "transfer function". The differences in results between this model and Walker's is probably trivial, but it's been fun to do.
