Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

For the new racers:

This is a Category C race at Duncan Gray Velodrome in Australia.

This is a "Miss & Out" also known as "Elimination" or "Devil Takes the Hindmost". The basic rule is that it's race where the last person in the pack is eliminated every lap down to 3 riders. With 3 guys left, then it becomes a 2 lap scratch for the finish. So, the fight is to not be last.

This video contains real-time:
- Cadence
- Speed
- HR
- No power

It also shows how close the riders are and how they safely behave.

Pay particular attention to the fact that for 4 minutes, once the rider is up to speed, his cadence didn't drop below 100RPM and peaked out at 130RPM making speeds of 45-55kph (28-35mph). I would estimate his gear to be 50/15 or 47/14.

Beautiful track! Closest indoor 250 to me is LA Velodrome.

My home track, I live 10 minutes from it and race there year round. Our summer series finished last night, the program for which included an elimination, one of my favorite events. Night and season ended with a 50 lap points race.

Dunc Gray is a great set up. World Class Indoor velodrome plus 800m criterium circuit right outside!
