Classic and Vintage Bicycles: What's it Worth? Appraisals and Inquiries - Peugeot teamline

I have a peugeot teamline 2000 columbus genius with full 9 spd ultegra , cinelli bars and stem with reflex rims.I paid 400e for it in pretty much new condition.
I can't seem to find out much on the web.
I am interested in finding out the value and quality of these bikes.
I am happy with it just curious

Most French race bikes with Columbus tubed frames catch collectors eyes but it kinda depends on what era the bike was from and its aesthtics. If this one was a bit older and with curved fork ends plus more traditional Peugeot paint job, the collectors will be lining up to buy it for easily well over $1K,but being that it has that newer style unfamiliar to your typical Peugeot bike collector paintjob and the newish tech straight forks, it might need a bit more time to cook before the right collector gets old enough to start looking for that bike and pay similar prices.

Is the bike as new as the components? From what I understand, Peugeot stopped exporting bikes to the US around 1991 but the company continued after that(??) What country are you in?

Looks like a very nice bike, if originally equipped with Ultegra it would've been near top of the line.

Im fairly certain the frame is older than the groupset... by a good 5 years at least, probably closer to 10.

good lookin machine, I'd expect it to go for around $400, not so sure on that though

The lbs thought it was 20 yrs old and i thought it was about 98.
It may be one of the last steel peugeots and i would have thought it was original because it appears there is nothing out of place on it.
I am in Ireland and the bike was brought here from Britain 10 yrs ago and stuck in an attic.

the frame/fork looks to be of 90's vintage (very late 80's at the oldest).

Peugeot bicycles were made and sold in Europe until around 2000 I think. The brand has relaunched now, there is a tasty retro roadie on their website.

Anyway, in the US a 1990's vintage steel road bike that isn't an exalted brand (think: Italian) or covered with Campagnolo isn't worth a ton - $200 to $500, fairly dependent on components. Too new to be vintage, too old to be modern, not carbon fiber and not sub-18 lb, just a by-roadie-standards-obsolete bike. I imagine your Peugeot is in the same position over there in the UK. Now, if the bike were in the US it might fetch more as a sort of curio piece, since the US market hasn't seen a new Peugeot since way back when.
