i am just about to start building a trailer and i saw the jack taylor hitch set up. it looks cool and i could build it into the bike i am working on now. would there be any advantage over the bob set up. how long is the cargo area on the taylor?

Seems like the Jack Taylor hitch would be more robust, particularly if it was also connected to the top and sides of the rack.

the JT hitch setup is definitely cool, until you need to remove it quickly.

Custom 2 wheel delivery trailer in recent show used 2 headset bearings in the hitch,
one for turning ,
and a second one for roll, when wheels were one higher than the other and/or bike lean.

BoB trailer uses nylon bushings.. thats adequate..

Remove what quickly? The hitch - why would it need to be removed? It wouldn't be any harder than removing a BAW hitch. I can't even imagine a scenario where it would need to be removed quickly.

The trailer should still be easily and quickly removeable, regardless of how the hitch is mounted.

well, i tend to use trailers sporadically and i'd rather not have that weird looking hitch on my bike when i dont need the trailer. So the way the bob trailer for example, attaches to a custom rear skewer is a lot cleaner application than the JT one.

i would leave the hitch on all the time as its going to be on a front load cargo bike. i might even tig or braze it on to the seat stay and rear drop. the hitch when not towing a trailer could tow a bike via front fork. that cant be done wit bob set up. i am going to use quick release skewers and two head sets. jack used something like a head set but different on the vertical part?
