I don't know if I can define them as being possessions , but I would put my family before any of my bikes or other material possessions.

I sold one of those on Ebay recently in very good condition only got about $35 for it.

That is certainly an interesting question. I met a kid who grew up in a country I can't pronounce. He hated these people who used to live on the other side of a mountain from his town (they were in another country or state) as they had tried to wipe out his civilization. We talked at length about what comes from those experiences as well as my own (we were both racing BMX in the same series and had time to talk). Nearly the last time I saw him, he removed a small battered ring of brass (I think it was from the corner of a crappy tarp) from his key ring and gave it to me, I gave him something from my key chain. We decided at that point that you couldn't keep pointless hate as well as the "object". I still have my brass ring.

And this, a possession but not really mine. I like it because it's interesting to look at and an inspiration. 'still rolling after 100+ years

I would have to say my '90 Bianchi Proto w/ MAX tubing. While it was not my first new and good bike, (infact it was built with used parts of a trade in frame) it was the first bikes I built from the ground up. OH I also got to pic the color of decals I wanted, and I could have picked a color but why would I pic something other than Celeste for this beauty?

I have a similar philosophy, I say we own nothing, we are just renting it for our lifetime.

I own all my stuff. Possession of some of it provides me with pleasure. But it's just stuff.

I don't have any prized possessions, but I have a lot of toys that keep me busy while I am here.

I have a classical sheet music collection that fills 7 file boxes. Much of it is antique, and nearly all of it is out of print since the newest pieces are from the mid-70s. It's my only material possession that I would consider irreplaceable.

Other than that, I will probably never sell my Chevrolet C-30, my LP collection, and my Rhodes electric piano. As for bikes, nothing currently, but if I get another Colnago like my old blue one, I wont let go of it again.

MY family..But as far as bicycles stuff goes....hmmm it must be the Large Flange C record hubs.. Love em.

Very nice possession. And a good point about freedom, though I suppose the OP meant bike-related possessions. Been a few places myself that makes me treasure my Liberty.

As for bike-related, I suppose it would have to be my Motobecane.

At first I felt bad about taking these Deltas out of the unopened and unmolested box they were in. But as I was working on mounting them I could feel the passion and workmanship that they carried with them - to my bike.

Overall? My health. Cycling related? I'd say my Gunnar. Not really CV, but I haven't found a better riding bike period.

Named Moochie after Marlon Starling a Welterweight boxer and champion who was from Hartford, CT. His nickname was "Moochie" and, of course, he and my dog are both "boxers."

I own 4 bikes--2 here and two in the US. I would be in a bad way if I lost any one of them. They are my life, possession-wise.

Actually it could be one's poop as I think it is the last thing one's body physically lets go of when one dies.....

Only in the Bicycle world my favorite possession is remembering the rides, everywhere I have been. Wow it's overwhelming and since I ride a motorcycle even my long cross countries trips had a similar view as riding my bicycle I really enjoy that.
That being said I cannot pick one of anything as a material possession over another if I know the story of who made it it how it was improved etc.

My memories.

My most prized possessions are the person who rides my 1991 Trek 830 and the person who rides my 1969 Raliegh Sports fixie, my lovely children. I can live without my bikes.
