Please can anyone help me? Does anyone know of a store in Washington State or Northern Oregon that carries a size 50 road shoe in stock? I know I can order them from all over the net but I want to be able to try them on first so I don't have to deal with the hassle of returning them. It has been a painful search so far.

You might try either Bike Tires Direct, or Universal Cycles in Portland. They both have retail stores for local pick up. So, you can order the shoe you want, and try it on and exchange it then if needed when you pick them up.

I feel for you. I have enough trouble finding 47 size shoes that fit but at least I can get them off the shelf and don't have to special order them.

I just bought a pair of Size 52 Shimanos from Western Bike Works in NW Portland. I originally went in thinking I'd have to order the size, but to my surprize they had them in stock. I was able to try them on in the store and walk around for 10 min or so. They carry both Shimano and Sidi which do 50+.

I'd call ahead to make sure they have the size in stock though just in case.

Western Bike Works and Bike Tire Direct are the same company if I remember right. I don't know why they use two different names, but both of their websites show the same inventory.
