Utility Cycling - What size Big Apples fit under Planet Bike Cascadias (26" version)

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I'm looking at Big Apples for my xtracycle and wanted to find out how large I can go and still get good coverage with my fenders. I'm currently looking at the 26x2.15 Big Apples that Amazon has for $44 each. Any better deals or tire suggestions? Thanks.

Haven't used them on an Xtra, but I ran 2.15 BA's with Cascadia fenders on my LHT and they fit fine. The 26" LHT frame has some pretty huge clearances though.
I just put the measuring tape to my Freeradical. You have enough room for a 2.5 inch tire.

I have cascadia fenders with 2.3 Big Apples on my Xtracycle and it clears just fine.
Nearly all the water gets flung from the very center of the tire by the time it gets up to where the fender is, so the fenders don't need to extend past, or even as far as the sidewalls to do the job. There is a lot of wider spray down near the ground, so a wider mudflap is useful.

I have big apple 2.35 inch tires on snowcat (44mm) rims under cascadia fenders. I had to bend the stays a little for clearance, but they work fine.
I wound up buying the new version of the 2.35 Big Apples from biketiresdirect.com as they were running a sale and Amazon seemed to be selling the previous version. I'll report back when I get them installed next week.
Update: The 2.35 Big Apples are exceeding my expectations. They fit with no problems on both ends of the bike with plenty of clearance in height and width. Next up will be a wheelset that has wider rims as I'm using XC racing wheels that are only 17 or 19mm wide.
wait till you get your BA's on the wider rims, will you be happy:) wider rims really spread out the footprint on the BA's
When I first switched over to 26x2.35 BA's 4 years ago, I put them on mavic 717 rims(17mm wide) and was so happy with them
several years ago switched over to Velocity p35's and WOW!! the BA's grew to a wider and taller footprint, also the comfort factor went wayyy up
experiment with the PSI, you'll find a sweet spot that really makes these tires shine, mine is around 25 rear and 20 up front....super fast and cushy ride
