Electric Bikes - Adding a throttle to a 'Izip Downtown' model - Is it possible?

Hi

This is my first post here :)

I own this Izip (Downtown folding model) and would love to have a 'Twist and Go' throttle added.
Is it possible, and if so, what do I need to know / do please? :p

Many thanks

of course it is possible
that's not much different than my Mu SL

a level throttle or a button throttle might be easier than the twist and go

you just have to make sure it is compatible with your motor and controller

like what kind of motor do you have installed?
what's the battery pack?
what's the controller?
make sure the controller have the terminals to add on a throttle

Ooh, the only info I can give you right now is the same as found on the ebay listing from when I bought the bike:

* Battery - 24v 12A SLA
* Controller - Currie handlebar control unit with torque adjuster and battery gauge

Here's the same bike: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220961644232

When you say: "make sure the controller have the terminals to add on a throttle" this is where I have no idea...
I'm just a lady who's bought her first electric bike, and I'm still learning :)

Many thanks
Tara
