Hello, I have a 1995 Trek 930 (18") frame. I am wondering what type and size of suspension fork I should buy for it. I am looking at used forks on an online auction. I have cantilever brakes. Presently considering the Manitou X-Vert fork, but do not know what items of info I need to purchase this fork.
Thank you in advance,

I put an old rock shox indy xc on mine. Upgraded from canti's to v-brakes at the same time as the shock.
Things you need to take into account are the diametre of your steerer tube, either 1" or 1 1/8th", the length of the steerer tube, and then suspension travel. More travel than the bike was designed for will make the bike handle poorly, less will make it twitchy.

I think I'd rather have twitchy than sluggish, personally
