I don't know how many of you have already seen this, or know of this. I didn't see it posted anywhere on this forum, so I decided to post it....

New “Rider Tuned” SLX Group for Trail Riders
*Available July 2012
SLX receives more updates for 2013, creating possibly the best all-around value/performance group available. Built to perform like XT and XTR, SLX now includes many of the same Trail options including award-winning Shadow Plus RD technology, and three new Rider Tuned 2×10 crank set options are available on the new style SLX crank.

New Sora Components for Sport and Fitness Road Riding

No longer the odd man out, the new Sora group finally gets shifters with the downshift lever paired with the brake lever, rather than the thumb button on the side. The shifters also receive built in barrel adjusters and look to have a profile much more similar to higher end hoods. While the group remains 9 speed, the improved group will give entry level bikes a serious boost in performance and looks with the new Mica Black colorway.

So you want the Sora shifters? Or the SLX?

It'll be interesting to see when they finally get disk brakes on a road bike... :)

Yes, but the shifters first.

Been there, done that. Avid invented the BB7 Road disc brake years ago! I've had one on my touring bike for a couple of years...

Here's an article where the wheel people discuss disc brake road bikes. http://www.bicycling.com/bikes-gear/bikes-and-gear-features/big-squeeze-road-disc-brakes

Don't like Shimano's Shifters that have the cables running out the side of them. Interferes with a good handlebar bag, for one, and is less visually appealing.

Older ones did. The newer ones have the cables go under the bar tape, like this:

My touring bike has a 42cm (c-c) handlebar, Shimano Ultegra shifters with cables coming out of the side, and fits a LonePeak H-100 handlebar bag without any problems...
