I am considering laying down a large chunk of cash on a 76 schwinn paramount tandem. any words of caution? i mean i already know it's heavy, but are these, ah i don't even know what i want to ask anymore, but are these pretty nice, maybe?
thanks
If you want a 76 Schwinn Paramount tandem, buy it. If you want a good tandem, don't buy it. Components and frames have improved a lot since 1976.
You might want to look at this thread.

I don't know what you intend to do with the bicycle, but there is a market for these. I also know of a Paramount tandem that was used in the Olympics about 1960. It has provenance with it and it probably worth quite a bit because of this documentation.
Perhaps you can fill us about your intentions for this bike.
Good luck,
Doc

small tours, mostly. me and my other half and a weiner dog on a baby seat.
it's got...
reynolds 531 tubing
campy hubs and pedals
24 1/2" front and 24" rear
mafac brakes
i think i may wait to see if i can find a better deal, but an older bike is definitely my style. i saw that thread before, i don't think this one is as nice as that olympic bike, but it's cute. thanks for all the advice.
