I have only heard good things about the VDC hubs. I want to use them on an older 126mm spaced road frame. Can these hubs be respaced to fit the frame? I think the hubs are 130mm.

From the one that I've seen, I would say no. The hub body fills the space between the bolts.

Yes, I've seen it done on a few occasions. Most VD hubs are 135 mm, which doesn't fit many road bikes. Toward the end of this summer, right when they lost US distrobution, they came out with a road-spaced hub, but I'm not sure how easy it is to find them. The way you have to respace the 135s is not easy without the proper tools and know-how. There are press-fit knurled spacers on each side which can be removed and filed down to desired width. I have not done this personally so I don't know the exact steps, but I know it works. You may want to replace the spacers with some thin knurled washers instead of modifying them. I would only try to respace the hub if I already owned it or was getting a great deal, otherwise pick a hub of the right width.
