Up past the axle a little while ago from a clean driveway this afternoon. Still snowing!
Who else?
My stupid town is negligent when it comes to plowing. It's hard to control a *car* when they just let the snow sit. So, some real slip and slide adventures on the roadway.
I've got a fat, fat rear knobby on my mtb. If there were more ice, more often, I'd get a studded wheel up front.
Too much snow to plow through the trail nearby. Snowshoeing tomorrow, I think.

Crazy weather here in Southern New England too.
Snowed Monday with single digit (F) temps on Monday and Tuesday.
Yesterday it was just shy of 50 degrees and today predicted to be 60.
We got about 8 inches of the fluffy stuff last night. I was in the mood to ride so I grabbed the fixie and headed downtown. I had a great time passing cars spinning their wheels to get through intersections. The best part was riding through unplowed side streets and looking down to see my feet dissappear beneath the snow at every revolution. I never realized how usefull riding fixed could be until I headed down a hill and realized the brakes were doing little to slow me. I stood up leaned forward and just stopped pedaling. The skid was enough to keep my descent manageable
The snow all missed me. I was daring it to come, even got gas for the snow thrower, but it slid past about 50 miles or so to the south. 200 miles east, it's 1 to 2 feet deep. Unfortunately, the cold did not miss. It will probably be below zero F (-18 C) tonight. By early next week the highs will be back in the mid 40s F (7-8 C), and, because I'm off work until 1/3, I'll be out riding.

Rode in R.I. on Tuesday night. about 15 degrees after dark . It was great, all snow on the roads.
All freezing rain here tonight. Temp about 28 degrees. Lots and losts of ice! Saying about 40 tomorrow. Should be some snow on Tuesday possably the first measurable. Cant wait!
Hi, you'd probably find it easier to get through the snow with a slimmer tire. I know though, I still prefer the fatties on my bike (as snow doesn't usually fall deep here), but slimmer will get you through the deep with less grief.

Last week 15 degrees total snow cover, today about 50 degrees dry pavement. Road bike riding today in January. I would really like one or the other, but not both. :(
