Training & Nutrition - Supplementation

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I am 37 yrs old and have not been taking any type of supplementation while training. I decided to start something yesterday. In addition to a daily vitamin, I just started taking the Endurox Capsules. Does anyone have an opinion on how it has/ has not helped them? Suggestions on what may be better?
I use a meal replacement after my training rides and it seems to be helping my recovery. Even though it is not denoted as a "recovery" drink it has 20 g protein and 80 g carbs and a little fat and seems to work nice. I also take a L-glutamine which is designed specifically for recovery. I seem to recover faster when using this combo of course long run will really tell.
I did a hard BT workout yesterday and I feel 90 percent recovered this morning, which is usually 60 - 70 percent, not bad. Of course it could all be in my head...
Good Luck

I know it isn't a specific formula for cycling but I used Twinlab's Mass Fuel shakes after every ride (just one, in addition to regular post-exercise meals) and was recovering extremely fast... Plus, I felt increase in power output too... It is a 33% protein and 66% carb mix and covers also your daily vitamin's needs... Just watch your total daily caloric intake, so you won't be gaining 'big' muscles... ;)
I always got it from a local GNC store and was recovering better than when using Endurox...
