Mountain Biking - Recommendation, please, for 26 inch Gravel Grinder tires

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I recently built up this older Ti MTB frame as my Gravel Grinder -- Canal trails in Phoenix now and this summer, the Mogollon Rim.
What do you recommend for fast, relatively narrow gravel grinder tires?
Many Thanks

Conti Race King, WTB Nano, Racing Ralph, Hutchinson Cobra, Ritchey Shield.
Though none smaller than 2.0
Avenir Swiss Army tires. 26 x 1.95. Fatter than you want but very smooth riding and low rolling resistance. Excellent for hardpack singletrack, too. Mine see lots of gravel and dirt road. I have tried many different kinds of tires, from expensive to cheap, and these are by far the best universal tire. The only time they slip is in loose sand or deep mud.
