Sorry guys i really tried to find a used one in celeste but my new to me Bianchi is red. this is my first modern road bike and oh my is she light and fast.

i still need to fully set her up and get the adjustments right. the pedals will be changed to my crank bros mallets, i just dont like the clips and strap thing. i need to get a 90mm or 80mm stem in white or move the seat up a bit, we will see. unfortunately we are going out of town sunday so i wont be able to rider her for a while.

I have a Via Nirone too.
It is a great bike for a heavier rider.
Very stiff yet rides nice.

thanks all,

I did take her for a quick 10 mile spin before i left. OH MY is she f'ing fast. i barely push the pedal and i am propelled forward like a dart. never had a aluminum bike. the bike doesnt flex at all under my weight like steel but you can feel the road more, the steel was smoother. The shifting is crazy smooth and i love that i dont have to take my hands off the bars to shift. Surprising braking is not all that great, i think i will change out the pads to koolstops or swissstops in hops it helps. also i think i may need a shorter stem.

dont know if i am sold on the saddle, but i will give it about 10 rides before i start worrying if it needs to go. cant wait to hook up the garmin and compare the data :)

thats how i started riding again work started the bike to work thing and i got hooked all over again

This is just plain true. Everybody knows it.

Took it out today on my short 1hr loop. oh boy i am out of shape.

ride notes,
negatives- found out on tight slow turns my toe will clip the wheel! yikes i need to be aware of that if i am clipped in. the compact crank might not be suited for me as i find i have to jump back and forth on the FD than i am used to. a few street gaps i ride over are harsher than the steel bike. jury is still out on the saddle, leaning towards a new one as of now. bars rotated down did help, also help reach issue too, still think a shorter stem is in the future. Koolstops or swissstops will be ordered this week.

positives- the extra gears and tighter gaps between then are beautiful. the shimano tiagra shifting is flawless quick, smooth and crisp. even under full load the shifts are so great. the bike is not squirrelly at all, i can easily track straight one handed while drinking my water or turning back to check traffic. its comfortable on the hoods, tops, and drops and unlike my old bike when in the drops i am not kneeing my gut the whole time. well okay maybe a bit when i was getting real low to fight the wind a few times. the bike is super quiet, even with my fat azz on it it doesnt squeak, rattle, groan. the only hills i get are overpasses, but with this bike i just drop one gear and stand to get over them, i just fly up the "hill".
