Anybody catch the race? Got up at 5 this morning to watch it. Hart had a crash early on that took him out of contention. Seemed to be the story of who was in the best shape with a couple of long pedal sections. Minaar took the win but there were quite a few decent times. This season is going to interesting.

You can catch the replay here

Funny, word was that the course got some re-routes this year to get rid of the long, flat pedal sections, haha. Always good to get early-season confirmation that your off-season training paid off, though. Sea Otter is another one of those.

Thanks for the link. Missed it but will watch when I get some time.

Just finished watching it on redbull tv. Awesome race with Minnaar taking it from Gwin at the last moment. Hated seeing Hart go down and losing all that time. But I think he probably would have struggled with all the pedaling since he's one of the smaller guys.

Track was kind of boring though. Fast but too much pedaling.

Thanks for the link and the heads up. Looked like some lung busting going on.

I watched it. The video and audio quality of the feed was better than I ever recall in years past. As always, more cameras would have been nice.

You don't usually see WC level athletes flopping anaerobically about on the ground after the finish line so that pedally middle section must have been a bittch.

I miss 4X.

"He has gone down faster than a French press and palmiers . . . !"

Real good race. I love watching them and getting all worked up. Fun to have the last racer win it. Good to the end!

Thanks for the link! I've never watched these races but I think I'll be checking them out if they put them online like that again.
