Brings back memories.
Christmas 1969 Military RVN (Viet Nam) been there 6 months, 6 to go. Have a 1 month son I have never seen. Got my first CK (confirmed Kill) about 10 days ago, now just sinking in. Have seen 6 americans die to date. Many more with wounds that will make them wish forever it was fatal. Am I gonna get outa here to see my son? Merry frigging Christmas. Odd - I do NOT remember a single thing or event of that day other than it being total despair.

Christmas 2004 - Son(s) now in Florida, I'm in KY. Just received in the mail a Christmas present from my Grandson. A hat that says "best Grandpa". Also spoke with my grand-daughter last night - telling me about her care bears. Last words were "I love you Grandpa".
MERRY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!! To All.
BTW - May God Bless our Soldiers away from their homes.

Yes, we must thank our brave men and women who are overseas fighting for our country. Let's hope they all come back safe, and lets hope this will be the last Christmas where we don't have to bear the fact of family members in action.

I'm in Ky too
My daughter just had my first grandson
and I cant afford to get them anything
should be a happy time but it just isnt geting there
he was suppose to go home today (born tuesday) but they are keeping him
they say he should be able to go home tomarrow ( has slight case of johndous )
and they live a couple of hours away

Hope you realize I meant no offense, but only to help. Tough times will pass.
Hang in there TechJD - Giving them your love is Priceless. I haven't seen my sons in almost 4 years. But I keep in touch.
